This is the closest a fire has come to my parents house. Kinda scary, only a quarter of mile away. They have lived there for the last 27 years and never before has fire threatened the area that closely.
It definitely scared the girls to be evacuated, but all in all, everyone was ok and the fire was put out, and they went to the beach.
My moms birthday was last weekend and she is soooo hard to buy for. So hard, in fact, because she buys or already has the things that she likes. So this year, I knew I needed to figure out something unique. Well, she always loves uncle Mikes pot that he can put in the oven or freezer and that he puts canolli in when he comes to parties. The pot I got her was from the very same place as uncle Mikes. Capps Pots is where the magic pot came from. And here is a photo of the prized possession. Thanks Trenton!
37 years without a broken bone is a pretty good record, but I guess my luck has run out. Yesterday while playing soccer I did a high jump and landed wrong somehow on my ankle. I cannot actually remember really what happened, all I remember is the pain. Anyhow, luckily Tim came to my game and was able to escort me to the ER. Here is my x ray:
This is the best shot I could get. The ER DR used the words fragment and floating. I am hoping this piece reattaches correctly. I guess I will be hobbling along for a while now. Hope to be running by the time we take off to Hawaii.Listening to KCRW morning becomes eclectic I ran across Bitter:Sweet a few years ago and notice today that I missed their interview. If you get a chance, listen. I like the mix of sounds.
